Meet Jaden Sparrow (‘20)!
In each edition of the Koh Collective, we want to feature one of our YogaKoh graduates to share what they have been up to since receiving their certification! Our first graduate highlight is someone who has embraced the yoga world wholeheartedly, now running her own wellness retreats, and has been wildly successful in her focus on cycle-based living. We are so excited to introduce to you our first graduate highlight, Jaden!
Jaden joined our koh-mmunity in 2020 when she completed her 200hr YTT in New Zealand with YogaKoh. Keep reading to learn more about her journey!
Q: Summarize what you have been doing since you got your certification. Where can we learn more about you?
“Doing my 200hr YTT with YogaKoh was the start of the greatest journey I have ever been on. I was blessed with the opportunity to start teaching full time and actually managing a new yoga studio right after the training. It was the scariest and most empowering opportunity to be thrown into the teaching world. I then paired my passion for yoga teaching and women's health into creating retreats. The coolest part about it is that I have run international retreats with my two best friends that I met at my YogaKoh YTT in New Zealand. YogaKoh brought me my soul sisters and my soul-aligned career.
You can learn more about me on my Instagrams @find.your.flow_ and @worlds.together, and on my website, findyourflow.space.”
Q: How has your practice changed since graduation?
“My practice has transformed from a goal-orientated physical practice to an invitation into presence and embodiment. My practice has slowed down and focused more on self-discovery, compassion, and creativity.”
Q: Has teaching been what you have expected?
“I didn't have a lot of expectations when I went to my YTT – I didn't even know if I wanted to be a teacher. I felt the calling as I started to ask myself "what does spirituality mean to me?". What I wasn't expecting was all of the opportunities I could create out of teaching and the transformation it has brought me. Teaching a yoga class can change lives and I didn't realize how powerful that would be.”
Q: Where do you see yourself in the next few years?
“In the next few years, I see myself continuing running retreats, teaching consistently in one studio, and doing my 300hr YTT. Down the road, I desire to open my own women's wellness space where I can support women in connecting to their menstrual cycles and body through yoga.”
Q: What advice do you have for someone wanting to embark on the journey of teaching?
“My biggest and simplest advice is to take the leap and just do it! Regardless if you actually want to teach, it will open up paths of self-discovery and give you so much clarity on your current life. I wish all humans could do a YTT or yoga retreat. Release any expectations and go into it with an open heart.
And if you do desire to teach, you get to create space for people to FEEL and BE, maybe for the first time in a long time.”
