So you’ve been scrolling through your explore page and have discovered our wellness and movement community – Welcome to YogaKoh! We are so grateful you’re here!

Now that you’ve done your digging on our retreats and are intrigued by our unique, once-in-a-lifetime Yoga experience, you allow yourself to wonder what it would be like to actually attend our Bali ‘Sea to Sky’ 200hr Yoga Teacher Training … So many questions arise – we understand completely, and are here to guide you every step of the way!

Here are our suggestions on how to best prepare to travel with YogaKoh to New Zealand, Bali, Italy, or wherever else in the world your path may lead you:

First, let’s do some research on the country you’ll be visiting! Taking some time to learn about the language, customs, and culture of your destination will help you adjust smoothly when you arrive. Perhaps you memorize how to say “Hello” or “Thank you” to help you connect with locals!

New Zealand: most people speak English or New Zealand's native language, Māori

Bali: “Om Swastiastu” is a perfect greeting for any occasion or time of day in Balinese

Italy: “Per Favore” and “Grazie” translate to “Please” and “Thank you”

Next, logistics! Be sure your passport is up to date, gather your documents, check the entry visa requirements for your chosen country, and make sure to check with your doctor about local health regulations. When booking your flights, don’t forget the local airlines, they could have better deals! Lastly, call your bank to let them know about your travels and secure your credit cards for when you are abroad.

New Zealand: Air New Zealand Limited, Jetstar, and Qantas; explore visa options here:

Bali: Singapore Airlines, Jetstar, Batik Air; explore visa options here:

Italy: ITA Airways, Lufthansa, Wizz Air, Ryanair; explore visa options here:

Usually, you will create your travel itinerary next: transportation, accommodation, and daily schedule – but thankfully when you are traveling with YogaKoh and don’t have to worry about any of that! All of our teacher trainings include your local transportation, a place to sleep, 2 or 3 meals per day depending on the teacher training, and a perfectly curated curriculum for you.

Time to get packing! This varies on the season and part of the world you are venturing to, but with all of our retreats, there are some basics you will need. A few outfits that you can move around in (workout sets or loose fitted clothes are both great options!), pajamas, swimsuits, a sweatshirt, gym shoes, and flip flops! A notebook and a writing utensil will be helpful too. Friendly traveler tip: always look at the weather wherever you go – don’t assume!

New Zealand: best to visit October to March

Bali: best to visit April, May, June, and September, October, November

Italy: best to visit April, May, and August, September, October
